Neurology

The Neurology Department is for diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, that is, central nerves (brain, spinal cord), peripheral nerves, and various diseases in muscles. Individuals experiencing the following symptoms need to visit a neurologist: headache, dizziness, weakness in one or both limbs, vomiting, inarticulate speech, speech impairment (aphasia), memory impairment, tremors, gait disturbances, abnormal limb movements, numbness of the hands and feet, paresthesia, facial paralysis, loss of consciousness, convulsive seizures, and sleep disorder.

The tests for diagnosis and treatment at the Neurology Department are typically brain MRI and MRA, brain CT and CT, angiography, carotid US, brain SPECT, brain PET/CT, EEG, the Seoul Neuropshychological Screening Battery (SNSB), dementia rating (CDR), NCS and EMG (electroneurography), TCD (transcranial Doppler US), and VNG (nystagmography). The department is doing its best in examination, diagnosis, and treatment in collaboration with the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Otolaryngology(ENT), and Rehabilitation Medicine Departments.
